Freelance INTEGRATED DESIGNER

Brought on during a peak season to support the Benelux markets, my role quickly expanded due to high demand, and I took on full responsibility for the German and French markets as well. Beyond executing high-volume artworking and localization, I stepped up to deliver bespoke designs and high-level conceptual assignments. This experience showcased my ability to adapt rapidly, manage cross-border campaigns, and balance strict technical production with creative problem-solving.

Brief

Throughout my time here,
I delivered versatile design solutions across multiple high-profile projects, spanning both digital and print. A key highlight was designing the official Starbucks B2B magazine, distributed to baristas across Europe. My digital portfolio included creating dynamic menus and web banners, while my print work featured bespoke billboards and retail displays. Additionally, I produced custom vector illustrations for packaging display coolers and developed tailored designs for Best Coffee’s mug sleeves, demonstrating my ability to seamlessly adapt to diverse brand guidelines.

Solution

Posters

I executed extensive artworking for a wide-reaching poster campaign, managing complex localization for multiple international markets. This required swapping layout copy across various languages and carefully cross-referencing regional product ranges. Since certain flavors and products were market-exclusive, I ensured every poster variation perfectly matched each country's specific inventory and local guidelines.

Photography

Conceptual

I collaborated closely with the Art Director and Creative Director to conceptualize a vibrant, sun-drenched summer campaign. We developed a visual direction defined by bold, bright colors and eye-catching typography. A playful highlight of the creative process was the 'lilac switch'
a fun, unexpected color shift that injected personality into the visuals.

Digital Menu's

I was tasked with recreating and adapting diverse menu layouts for several international markets, which required meticulous artworking and precise content management. This involved updating localized imagery, altering regional pricing, and cross-referencing country-specific product ranges. Because different languages vary significantly in text length, I carefully adjusted the typography and structural elements to maintain visual balance. I ensured that every menu strictly respected local style features while preserving the global brand identity.

How to make a branding pop?

Using Starbucks colours &

products

I assisted with the art direction during the photoshoot, where my primary responsibility was safeguarding the overall look and feel.
I ensured that the iconic Starbucks branding took center stage, creating a perfect harmony between the product assets and the campaign's visual aesthetic.

Sticker Design

Windows outside needed a new sticker. I had to prep the illustrations, adjust some illustrations and make them PDF ready for the printers.

I was responsible of assisting the shoot, but I also had to keep an eye on the overall look and feel. The branding of Starbucks really had to pop oout and be in harmony with the assets.

I have been working on digital and printed posters. East African coffee in different languages. I had to make the files print ready

Illustration for

displays in shops

I was commissioned to create vector illustrations for instore barista instruction guides. Starbucks features separate hot and cold food sections—such as yogurt and salads for cold items, and toasted sandwiches for hot items—which must be displayed and stacked in a specific way.

The guide features illustrations of these products, which I created in Adobe Illustrator (see the close-up of the salad illustration).

I designed large-format window decals and sticker layouts for Starbucks storefronts. This assignment required translating the core elements of the summer campaign into eye-catching outdoor visuals that would attract high footfall. I oversaw the technical preparation of these large-scale print assets, ensuring that resolutions, bleed lines, and brand placement were flawlessly optimised for high-visibility window displays.
